Thailand is famous for its snow-white beaches, active nightlife and wild jungle with unique flora and fauna. Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan Lake is the most popular place not far from Phuket where tourists can enjoy wildlife.
To see all the beautiful and unique landscapes of the park you will have to leave Phuket at least for a couple of days.
Khao Sok National Park is a wonderful place for walking, canoeing, and even a night safari. Everyone who wants to see cute monkeys, wild elephants, gibbons and other animals, as well as hundreds of species of birds and insects in their natural habitat, must visit the park. The vast territory of the park is covered with mangrove forests, giant exotic trees, waterfalls, limestone cliffs and caves. Visiting caves is one of the favorite attractions of tourists, because there you can see bats and large spiders. Don’t forget that you can visit caves only during the dry season. During the rainy season, the water level increases and the caves are flooded.
The park has several tourist routes which run through dense thickets, hilly terrain, along streams, rivers, and waterfalls, where you can swim. The park is also famous for its unique flowers of rafflesia with a diameter of about 1 meter. The flower is considered to be the symbol of the park and in order to find it, it is better to walk in the park with the guide.
