Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the second largest in passenger traffic after Suvarnabhumi. It is situated in the north of the island, quite far from the main tourist areas. The distance between the airport and popular Phuket beaches: from Patong - 37 km, from Karon - 47 km, from Kata - 48 km.
The airport has two terminals situated in two buildings - for international and domestic flights
In 2016 a new terminal in Phuket International Airport was opened which increased its capacity to 12.5 million passengers per year. However, the passenger traffic already reached this number in 2015.
Near the airport there is Nai Yang Beach and Mai Khao Beach from where you can watch planes taking off and landing.
The cheapest way to get to the city is to use a public bus which follows the route Airport shuttle bus stop - Old Phuket Terminal.

At the airport exit you can see Taxi Service counters where you can buy a ticket for a group transfer by minibus to Patong, Karon, Kata, Kamala, Rawai and Surin beaches. The price for 1 ticket is 150-200 THB. The trip takes 1.5 - 2 hours. As this is a group transfer, you will have to wait until the minibus is full. Group transfer is available every day from 06:00 till 23:00.

The fastest and the most convenient way to get to a hotel from Phuket airport is to take a taxi. You can catch a taxi on the arrival at the airport, however, we can not guarantee reasonable prices. It is possible to book a taxi in advance after looking through all the available offers. You can book your taxi online at our website or by telephone. You will be met at the airport entrance. The driver will hold a card with your name on it.
